Something For Class - 2003I try to picture myself walking down the industrious streets of New York City
Holding my nieces hand as she skips through the puddles of rain,
Pretending to be on top of the world.
As I stop to buy her an umbrella from a street vendor,
I marvel at her innocence, and impeccable ignorance towards the world
That surrounds her.
She has no concept of war,
No understanding of how revenge becomes a way to reconcile between countries.
I don’t have to explain to her why three thousand people were innocently killed
On the eleventh of September,
Because she would be more worried by the fact that
That day was only a Tuesday, an
The Sake of LoveI ask myself a question
Guessin at what leaves others vexed
And the mind perplexed
At what the heart refuses to confess
The secret inquiry that leaves
The mind weary and puts
The heart to the test
Of all that is selfishly beautiful
And best about love
In all her disguises and vises
And out of all this arises the question that be:
Do we love for the sake of love?
Think about it. Do we?
Selfishly pursue the connection
Of another simply to foster
A feeling of inner security
Intimidating intimacy, simply to
Construe confusions of love
Into illusions of unity
Just so lonliness will not
Overcome our fantasies
Of a possible chan

Sorry for responding so late..been away for a couple of weeks and I haven't been on DA as much. But anyway yeah...In The Depths of Solitude is a nice one too. I have his poetry book that was put out a while ago...he had some pretty hott stuff in there. :)
